WHAT IS SAFE FAMILIES?
Safe Families for Children seeks to keep children safe and families together. Safe Families for Children is rooted in faith, fueled by radical hospitality, disruptive generosity, and intentional compassion, to build a network of caring and compassionate volunteers to support families facing social isolation. Our goals are to prevent child abuse and neglect, reduce the number of children entering the child welfare system, and support and stabilize families.
How do we work?
SFFC connects parents to a network of support through family-like relationships with vetted volunteers.
Our volunteers are fully vetted and trained to provide support and resources to parents while they get back on their feet.
What makes SFFC so unique is there are many roles in our Circle of Support so everyone can do something!

Meet our Ministry Lead, Kerri!
Hi! I'm your Great Lakes Ministry Team lead, Kerri Pingel.
I'm a licensed counselor, specializing in working with children and families, and a foster parent in Kenosha.
The premise of Safe Families is simple: Children are most safe with their families and should stay with their families when it is possible. Safe Families comes alongside families at risk of their children going into foster care and in need of practical support.
There are various ways to volunteer and I look forward to connecting with you if you are interested in learning more or volunteering with this partnership.
